A vehicle accident in Ontario near Barrie resulted in a person being rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The truck accident occurred after a tractor-trailer crashed into a truck.
According to police officers, the accident happened at about 11:30 a.m. The tractor-trailer was heading south and crashed into a truck on Highway 400 by Highway 89. The collision caused the truck to be forced through the centre steel guard rail and into the northbound lanes. Then, the truck collided with other cars. In total, six vehicles were involved in the accident. The injured victim was a woman, and she was transported to a hospital in Barrie after the accident. Police reported that no other individuals involved in the accident had sustained any known injuries.
Both northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 400 from Highway 89 to 4th Line. At 5 p.m., police officers reopened the southbound lanes. All lanes were cleared for travel later that night. While there was no report of any charges filed, an investigation into the incident was still underway at the time of reporting.
When such injury accidents occur, an investigation may be able to reveal if one of the drivers should be held responsible for the damages caused by the accident. In this case, preliminary reports might suggest that the truck driver may have been at fault. The injured victim and the other individuals who suffered property damage in this accident may be able to hold that driver liable for the cost of repairs and medical treatment. A lawyer familiar with truck accident cases may be able to help those individuals file a claim in court.
