Ontario Provincial Police responded to a Jan. 3 traffic accident on Norwich Road between County Road 13 and Middletown Line in Norwich Township, reportedly. The Oxford County crash involved two vehicles that collided head-on shortly after 4:30 p.m. and left a minor with fatal injuries.
Police said they are still trying to determine the cause of the wreck and summoned the help of a unit specializing in traffic accident investigations. Authorities reported that a vehicle travelling west on Norwich Road crossed into oncoming traffic when its driver lost control of it. The wrong-way vehicle then crashed struck an eastbound SUV in head-on fashion. The resulting damage resulting was considerable, with several individuals requiring hospitalization and officials closing the road for more than four hours in order to investigate and clear the crash.
Six individuals involved in the two-car crash, including both drivers, suffered accident-related injuries. An 11-year-old female passenger in one of the vehicles died on account of the wreck.
Head-on collisions have the potential to cause serious and fatal injuries. This Norwich Township is evidence of that truth. The people killed in motor vehicle accidents leave behind family members who struggle to deal with such a sudden and shocking event. Nor had many of the decedent’s families prepared for the costs associated with a loved one’s death, such funeral costs and the cessation of the decedent’s economic contributions to household and familial expenses.
However, certain family members might be eligible to regain their financial standing with a wrongful death lawsuit, filed in civil court with a lawyer’s guidance. It is a sound legal option for seeking compensation for the losses tied to the death of fatal accident victims.
